The Community input has been consistent: residents want a reasonable, resident-first approach that directly addresses the City’s real financial challenges. Residents focused on these core priorities: Stabilizing City finances by addressing pension debt and deferred maintenance Requiring accountability so tax funds are legally directed to solving problems including pensions and infrastructure Treating one-time costs as temporary and lowering the tax once they’re funded Protecting public safety, including retention of local police, fast response times, and fire safety Repairing long-neglected City facilities, including the City Hall complex
