A PVE Resident engaged Council to express concerns about Council’s tax efforts. This included Council’s unanimous decision, without deliberation or public discussion, to abandon their own tax which funded Infrastructure and Pensions.
Council then handed their leadership role over to a anonymous group and endorsed the anonymous group’s Mega-tax, which excludes funding BOTH Infrastructure and Pensions.
John’s questions and concerns were left unaddressed by the Council.
Mayor Kemps admitted VIDEO that since the Mega-tax excludes Infrastructure funding, another tax will be needed soon.
How many taxes will be stacked?
The Mega tax more than triples Measure E to provide $16+ million in new taxes to fill a $2.5 million budget deficit. Why is Council abandoning their own claims that Infrastructure and Pension funding is critical - then endorsing a Mega-tax that does neither?
